Drawing on the Mandarin Ducks Lane
August days are hot in Shanghai. Drawing Shanghai heroes were eager to try it out, how does it feel to be boiled alive like a frog. It gets scorchingly hot before noon, so better start the boil early. This time we went to a mysterious house Zhēnwǔ Gōng (眞武宫) on Walled City's Mandarin Ducks' Pavilion Lane (鸳鸯厅弄). Mysterious? The property border stones on the lane tell us the name of the building and that's all solid info we know about it. Everything else is speculation. Did we capture the mystery while being boiled alive?
There will be a more detailed post discussing the building and the lane later, here are artworks from our outing.
